My Christmas Wishlist

I have been swatching and perving on products with wild abandon this year and I have finally decided on my top 10 presents..and these are them..(is that grammatically correct? It sounded wrong in my head)  I think I'm entitled to all of them seeing as I've been very well behaved this year but that is a matter of conjecture.

In no particular order..

I saw this palette when I went shopping and was instantly bowled over by the glittery shade (the third one in).  The SA told me they didn't sell it on its own which is a shame as I'd have snapped it up.  The whole palette is very Christmassy and I can see myself using it for many an Indian wedding.  The glittery shade caught my attention as the glitter is perfect.  It applies smoothly and doesn't feel chalky at all.  It grabs the right amount of light and looks fantastic layered over darker shadows.  I got an invitation to my cousin's 18th birthday party whilst I was in Moscow and the outfit I'm going to wear is a purple and pistachio colour and this palette would be perfect to craft an eye from.

I saw these at the same time as seeing the palette above, I was going to go back to buy them but the freezing weather addled our brains.  The green is a gorgeous sumptuous (it really is) colour.  It's like a mixture of black and green and it would work brilliantly on my eyes.  There is a really good swatch of it here.  I found out by accident that blue really makes my eyes pop and as I love Bobbi Brown gel liners, there was only one I could buy.  It's dark enough to show up on my lids but you can still see that it is blue and not black.

A fellow beauty blogger told me to buy this when she picked her one up but I was too busy swatching the Black palette (which has the most perfect matte black in it).  I didn't bother getting it and when I went back to buy it, I was told they were all sold out..boo!

For the longest time I have wanted an ice cream maker.  I see myself as a Willy Wonka, concocting up exotic ice creams that nobody else has tried.  Had I had one of these a few years ago, I'd have easily usurped Heston Blumenthal.  Anyway, I really want one and I'm going to get it.

This again is something I have wanted for as long as I can remember.  To knead dough into my wounds, my dad bought my mum one and she doesn't even use it! I'm getting one of these by hook or by crook..

I didn't want a Clarisonic at first but then I saw possibly the best review of this product by Resha.  Now I want it as I shudder thinking how much makeup I go to sleep with on my face.

I never paid this brand much attention and just assumed they did bog standard colours.  I was minding my 8 year old cousin and watching the Sunday beauty thing they have on QVC and they came on.  The polishes come in really original colours, they look bog standard in the bottle but once they're applied, they're very individual colours which is something I always look for.  I've chosen this set because when I saw them applied, the colours looked brilliant, especially the middle one..and you can layer the light blue over the others.

My lust for these was created by Charlotte.  The only way I can describe what these look like is "sex in a bottle".  They don't look like nail polish, they look like satin.  They apply just as well which is always a good thing and I can just see how fantastic Minger will look against my skintone.

These aren't from the official UGG site and they do look rather fake.

I had a pair of these before buy my grandmother fell in love with them so I gave them to her as she needed them more than me.  It has been freezing here recently and these were perfect the last time we had snow and I miss them terribly.  If I don't get them for Christmas then I'm going to get them in the post Christmas sales.

Another Bobbi Brown palette.  I love her palettes because it's clear she thinks about which colours you could need for any eventuality and I can take this one palette, my primer and a lipstick and I could easily use it for an entire week without getting bored.  The size of the shadows is pretty generous too so it'd last me ages.

I know the present buyers read this so step to it!

Stuff I want...nay..NEED

I haven't done one of these for ages because nothing was really jumping out at me as I think I lost my makeup mojo for a bit but it's back now so worry not!

I have pores.

Pores which it seems only I can see, you can't see them in photos and whenever I ask the most brutally honest people I know, they can never see them..and they would tell me if they could.

Anyway, I know they are there and I think that if I can see them, anyone with two eyes can.  I've used pore "perfectors" before but they all seem to fall out of favour with me as time goes on.

I used to love Benefit's Dr Feelgood but it stopped performing..well, I'm not sure if it changed or if I changed..I just stopped seeing it in the same light as I did before.

I really want to try this and can't wait for it to come out in the UK.

On the subject of pores, I'm sure that they could be smaller and cleaner which is why I've been eyeing up the Bliss range, I only seem to see their bodycare things in the shops, never the skincare..Anyway, me wanty:

 

A few weeks ago, I bought Ashes to Ashes by NARS and it has very quickly become my "go to shadow".  It's easy to apply, blends in seamlessly and even if I don't blend it to my usual expert standards (modesty!) it still looks pretty good.  It has a little sparkle in it and I feel that it makes me look a bit more awake.  

The downside of my NARS love is that I now want the following.

The swatches do the shadows no justice at all.  Daphne is a handsome, rich purple.  Night flight is more black than it is blue and it has blue glitter in it.  I know that doesn't sound too exciting but I swear the shade of blue is perfect for the shade of black.  I've swatched it many a time and always left it because I couldn't justify the purchase of a colour that I would seldom use.  Strada is a light purple (almost lilacy) colour with goldeny flecks of glitter in it.  For some reason it reminds me of the skyline from The Jetsons.

Thanks to Yinka, I've started to buy more and more blusher and I'm now venturing out into the cream/gel blusher territory which has left me hankering after this..

I have no idea how I'd blend it in or which brush I'd use but I've been so near to buying it but then I've been reminded by the annoying voice (Monlar) that I have more blushers than he has jeans..which is a bare faced lie because he has about a million pairs of jeans and I've got all of 9(?) blushers.

I've been in to swatch these and after lusting after only ONE..I know want the whole range.

So, that's what I'm lusting after..anything catching your eye?

My Winter Wishlist

I was going to call it Autumn but to me those two seasons seem to blend in seamlessly, unlike Spring and Summer.  In my mind, Spring is when it looks sunny and nice outside but it's still a bit cold, Summer is when it looks nice outside and it's actually warm.

I have had a wishlist in my head for the past few weeks but I keep forgetting what I want and from where so I've decided to a)let you guys in on it and b)document it so if Mon comes asking, I can point him to this exact post.


So, here are the items I am currently coveting:

Clothes/shoes/bag-wise:
This gorgeous makeup bag, it reminds me a bit of something by Versace but like Versace inspired so it may look like a fake-o? Hmm..not sure...anyway, it's a bargain at £7.

I'm also madly in love with these flats. How can anyone NOT like them? Look how sexy they are.  I find that it's rare to find some sexed up flats for a decent price and these tick all boxes.  Sadly they also tick the "out of stock because they sell like hot cakes" box.  Dagnabbit.  I hope they make enough of these to last until the post Xmas sales.

I'm literally coveting my neighbour's ass because she has these. I think I might be able to make these myself though, I'm thinking of buying a pair of cheapo suede boots (mock suede, then) and buying some of those hairbands from Primark which look a lot like the "bands" around these boots.  I'm sure they could stand a winter's wear.  I'll have to ask the haberdasher extraordinaire known as my mum if that idea is viable.

I haven't checked more of Topshop's website because I will end up wanting more than I actually really want, you know when you like for like's sake and not because you really want it?

As a final note from TS, I used to have a purse like this when I was in year 10 at school.  I only chucked it out recently, I should have kept it so I could have sold it as vintage/cutting edge.  My friend at school used to LOVE scratching the purse and making my teeth hurt and she's made a career out of working at Topshop.  She's still there now and I'm going to be asking her if she had a word when TS were designing their winter wardrobe..

I haven't really seen anything else I like in any other shops..odd.  Normally, you can't stop me shopping at this time of year but this time I seem to have come to my senses, much to the relief of Mon.

I really really really like these shoes, they're perfect for both the party season and Indian functions.  I'm quite taken by how the straps looks like tumbling bangles but I've realised that my foot won't fall forwards, it would be straight up.  They're still gorgeous though!

I've also realised recently that I'd quite like:

I don't know what it is, I know it's not a looks thing (not that I'm saying he isn't aesthetically pleasing).  I've seen him on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, The IT Crowd and The Mighty Boosh and he just has something about him.  I think it's the fact that he's able to look and dress anyway he pleases without looking like he tries hard to be different or to be a poseur.  Plus, he comes across as being a very nice guy too.   I mean look at what he's wearing there, he doesn't look like he's trying to be cool, he just looks happy in himself.  Noel Fielding, I think I may very well be in love with you.

Makeup-wise I'm seriously lemming this stuff:
Urban Decay's Ink for Eyes (£14.00).  I'm really liking this packaging but the sceptic in me isn't sure that you get £14 quids worth of product.  I'd buy it in Binge which is a lovely dark blue colour.

Another beauty from UD, this time it's the Urban Decay Super Stash (£18.00).  I really want to get these pencils as the colours are gorgeous and last ages but I've got a million pencils that need to be used up first.  £18 quid means that each pencil costs a bargainous £2! 

MAC's 219 pencil brush (£17.00) so that I can finally put shadow under my lower lid without putting too much/too little on.

NARS Yachiyo blusher brush (£37.00).  I've used it once before and nothing else applies blusher like this.  It's perfect for noobs, albeit a tad pricey.

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Blushed Rose (£17.00).  I love multifunctioning products and this colour matches my natural blushing colour (or the colour I hope I go when I blush, you know how hard it is to tell when an Indian girl blushes).

 Bobbi Brown's Earth Metal Lip and Eye Palette (£48.00).

 

I love Bobbi Brown palettes because you get a decent amount of eyeshadow in each, I already have the nudes palette and the blocks of shadow in that are massive, I think they're bigger than the individual shadows you get.  Also, you get brushes with the palettes which is good.  The brushes aren't always the best but at least it's no sponge applicator.

I'm also lemming the two new palettes coming out by Sleek.  I can only find a photo of the Graphic palette, so feast your eyes on this badboy right here:

I'm going to scope this one out tomorrow because greys look fantastic on my 'lids.
